Our Dental Team Can Ease Your Anxiety

tooth-colored_fillings_2 | Dr. Jennifer Perkins, DDS

Being a little frightened can be fun. When you go to a “haunted” house for Halloween or see someone dressed as a monster, you know that’s is all in good spirits. (No pun intended.)

But there are many people who have real fears and anxieties that affect them all year. One of the most common, unfortunately, is a sincere fear of the dentist. We understand this is a real concern, and it’s one that we take very seriously at the office of Jennifer Perkins, DDS.

Today, we want to help you understand some of the things we do to help patients feel more relaxed at our office in Huntsville, AL. Our hope is to make dental care easier for you, so you can have the healthiest mouth possible.

To learn more about our approach to patient comfort and care, start by calling us at 256-801-0002 to ask any questions you may have.

Helping You Relax

We have worked with many patients over the years. Some could stroll in, sit in the chair, and get a cleaning no problem. Others had trouble getting to the door — at least the first time they visited us.

It’s OK if you feel nervous. Many people struggle with dental anxiety, but you can learn to manage it.

One of the ways we do that is by creating a cozy atmosphere for our patients. When you visit us, our compassionate and caring team will greet you with a smile. We have free beverages for you to enjoy while you wait.

To help you feel more at ease, we are happy to offer you a pillow, blanket, or both to use during your dental visit with us. Many people also find dental care easier when they have a distraction, so they can focus on something other than their oral care. With televisions in our patient rooms, you can watch one of your favorite shows while we do our thing to keep your mouth healthy.

If you aren’t sure that will be enough, we also offer dental sedation. You’ll take this prior to your appointment, so you will feel calm when it’s time for you to sit in one of our chairs. Sedation dentistry also keeps people free from pain and stops gagging as well. If you have questions about sedation, please ask. We want you to have all the information you need to know if this a good option for you.

Flexible Payment Options

Sometimes the stress people feel about dental care has as much to do with the cost as it does the actual treatment. It’s also why we offer a variety of payment options, so you can find one that works with your budget.

In addition to taking cash, check, and credit cards, we also work with CareCredit. This is a company that helps patients finance dental and other health-related expenses so you don’t have to pay for everything up front.

We also are excited to offer an in-house membership club. For a low monthly fee, you and your family can receive quality preventive care, including regular cleanings and exams, as well as discounts on other services. Many people find this is the most affordable to get the routine care you need and deserve.

Here for You

Whether you have mild or severe dental anxiety, one of the best things you can do is finding a practice that wants to understand your worries and wants to work with you. Your fears won’t disappear in a single visit, but with each visit, things can get easier.

And you can keep your healthy, happy smile!
