Covid-19 Update
To Our Patients,
Jennifer Perkins DDS is doing our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Per the Alabama Department of Public Health recommendations, as of Wednesday, March 18, we will treat ONLY TRUE EMERGENCIES until it is determined safe to see routine appointments.
CLEANINGS:
- We have rescheduled or contacted you about upcoming appointments.
- Periodontal patients scheduled 6 months out can call when things return to normal to try to be seen sooner.
TREATMENT:
- We have tentatively rescheduled these appointments.
- We prioritize treatment based on urgency.
EMERGENCIES:
- If you have a true dental emergency, call 256-520-8842. This is Dr. Perkins’ personal cell phone. If you do not receive a return call within 1 hour (at most), please call again.
- You may be asked to send pictures via text (if possible).
- Some things we consider TRUE dental emergencies:
- Persistent throbbing/aching tooth PAIN
- Major swelling
- Broken teeth with PAIN
- Acute injury with loosened tooth
- Any persistent bleeding (not just when flossing)
We generally DO NOT consider these true emergencies:
- Crowns that come off (try Fixodent, not “temp cement”)
- Chipped or broken front teeth
- Broken tooth, crown, or filling without pain
- Mouth ulcers (use sore throat spray for discomfort)
We hope to be at full speed as soon as possible, but we take the health and well-being of our patients, staff, and families very seriously. Please check our website for updates.
